
Prevention
The I AM POSSIBLE mentoring programme offers support to young people based in Luton and its surrounding areas Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Its aim is to support the change of behavours that lead to a negitive lifestyle.
The I AM POSSIBLE programme uses youth mentors and from September 2024, have spaces for mentees.
We are looking for young people to be referred from: schools, local authorities and additional support services in the sector. We also welcome self-referrals.
The programme has been developed to help vulnerable young people aged 11 – 25 years old who will benefit from a person-centred approach to engagement

Post-rehabilitation
Referral criteria for supported accommodation at Batten House:
- They must be clean post-rehab for at least three months.
- Male.
- Single.
- Aged: 21 to 65.
- Must be eligible to receive Housing Benefit and
prepared to stay at the residence for a minimum
term of
six months. - Whilst there is no maximum stay,
the resident should be prepared to enter into a
review on next steps if they have resided at the
property for more than six months. - Batten house is a completely abstinent house. No
alcohol is permitted on the premises. Recovering
addicts/alcoholics considered based on individuals
needs & condition. - Be prepared to have random swab/urine tests if
required. - Must not have a criminal conviction for any sexual
offences or offences against children. - Must not be a prolific self-harmer.
- Cannot keep pets at the residence, we are in the
process of reviewing this, however, being a multiple
household the residence will not suit the keeping of
a dog or cat.
Support Related Referral Criteria:
- They can have medium support needs.
- Must have a desire to be helped towards positive change.
- Must be willing to abide by: the House Rules, Regulations and License Agreement.
- Must be willing to engage with the project and participate in meaningful activities. These could include: volunteering, training & education, skill development, employment or other paid work etc. the target for this is a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Must be willing to work with Pastoral Mentor weekly to meet the objectives of their Support Plan including engaging with (and not restricted to) relevant activities, residents meetings or coaching workshops.
